Diary of Fin

Two weeks ago my baby boy was born in a blaze of chaos as the doctors and midwifes monitored him through out, his heart rate dropping as the peeped for emergency C section only to find he was leading them down the garden path. Once his heart rate settled for what seemed millionth time we found our rhythm! Fin was born at 9 lbs 15 ounces ready to take on the world.

The agonising wait to go home.

I cannot even begin to thank the midwifery unit at Norwich hospital, they were unbelievable, the support we received was that of the balmoral hotel in Edinburgh, we were incredibly lucky and fortunate. It seemed Fin was born into a spring heatwave and as everyone reading this will know the windows don’t open far enough in NHS buildings!

We stayed for afew days making sure he would eat and the recovery process for my partner could begin.

In my experience child birth is the most spectacular experience, nothing I have ever done or will do can compare to that moment.

Good luck to those going through the same thing more great stories to follow!
